Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Post Divorce Finalized Papers

I am recently divorced from someone and did not hire an attorney. My ex sued me for divorce. I signed papers and did not realize what I was signing. Somehow I signed something saying that i did not want notification that the divorce was about to be final (after 90 days). i was shocked to receive my final divorce papers. I have health problems and can confused easily. Due to the circumstances I inteded to go for Alimony. Is there any way I can amend the divorce agreement even though it is finalized since i did not have legal counsel and did not understand what I was signing.

Re: Post Divorce Finalized Papers

You have a very short window to petition the court to reopen the divorce matter. They may or may not open the matter depending on the circumstances.

Good luck to you.
