Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

I have a question about requesting a paternity test in PA. I signed an Acknowledgement of Paternity for my son who was born out of wedlock, but now the mother and the acutal alledged father have both told me that I am not in fact the biological father. The mother is currently seeking child support through Domestic Relations since she is receiving welfare. Am I unable to obtain a paternity test, even if it has to be paid for out of my pocket?

I have many questions for you about your situation and it is difficult for me to advise you without knowing the facts. If you wish to discuss this with me, please contact me, either via email or by phone.

Generally, either you or the putative father can bring a paternity action. The mother, child and the other man or you must all be parties. You can request DNA testing as part of the paternity action.
