Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

my rights

I was residing in South Carolina with my husband Daniel--name removed-- and we had a daughter on December 29th of 1998. I was ask to leave by his mother and step father about two months after she was born. so i did so and at that time I had no where to go with a child so i felt that it was best to leave her with him I did not have any intentions of not ever seeing her again. I have been trying to get into contact with him so that i could be a part of Selina's life and was not permitted to. Just recently I was able to reach Daniel online and he sent me a picture granted that was nice.(it has taken me al most ten years to get in touch with him) However, I just wanted to try and have a mother daughter relationship with her. but again I am hitting a brick wall with him. I am not sure what my rights are at this point or what i have to do can you please give me some advice on what it is i am able to do at this point.

Re: my rights

It is unfortunate that you lost contact with your daughter. You may be able to re-establish contact with her but you should remember that you are probably a stranger to her now. You should re-enter her life with care. You will have to contact an attorney in the county where she resides to review your options. Make sure first that your rights have not been terminated. If not, then you should be able to file an action for visitation if the father will not voluntarily allow contact. You will need advice on the laws of South Carolina for this.
