Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

I have been separated from my husband for 17 years and I want to re marry. My husband now resides in south Carolina with his new family. What is the cheapest and fastest way to get a divorce from him so that I can move forward?

File for divorce in PA if you have been separated for 17 years. There should be no issue with child custody/support or spousal support/alimony. Is there anything that you and your husband jointly own together? I suggest that you see a PA family attorney.

In NC, there are what are called pro se (do it yourself) divorce packets for uncomplicated cases where there are no other issues. Perhaps PA has something similar. If so, check with the domestic relations court for your county. I would still suggest that you at least consult with a family law attorney just to make sure that there is nothing missed.

I agree with the attorney's advice. You would most likely file for a 3301(d) two year seapartion divorce. Consult with an attorney to make sure there are no other issues. If you would like to schedule a consultation with my office you may contact me.
