Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Social Services

I have a duaghter who was placed in foster care,September of 2001 because of being a cronic runaway from us. She ran away from the fostercare in May of 2002.We brought her home September of 2002. We had a fight in October 2002 she was slapped in the face once, she cried child abuse so they took her again. WE were unfounded in the report and Social Services will not bring her back stating that they fear for her saftey. My daughter is 17 and will turn 18 in about 10 mos. Also I am not my daughters biological father but my name is on her bc, I have raised her as my own since day one and yes I am married to her mother. My basic question are

1. WE would like to terminate our parental rights since we have to pay support for her and we have two other children at home and there is noway we even want her to come back she is just bad news, can we do this and if so how do we need to go about it?

2. Even thou I am not her biological father but raised her from birth is there a way out for atleast me? If so what course must I take?

Re: Social Services

It is not likely that a court would allow you and your wife to terminate your parental rights. It may be possible for you to terminate your support obligation. But, this is quetionable since you have not contested paternity for so many years.
