Re: child support

I am happy to consult with you on a free initial basis. It is very helpful to discuss all of the ramifications with an experienced family attorney. I have ten years' experience as a family law practitioner and am a former hearing officer with the Montgomery County Domestic Relations Office.

You may seek support by filing a complaint in the Domestic Relations Office of your county. You do not need an attorney to file it or attend a hearing with you. Contact your county courthouse and they will provide you with the number.

However, you will only be entitled to it, on behalf of the children, from the date you file the complaint. Any amounts which might have been due prior to filing are lost.

There is also a law known as the Protection from Abuse Act. If you are in fear of bodily injury, you can obtain a court order prohibiting him from coming within a mile of you for one year. That, in turn, can be reissued after that time.

Rest assured, I will provide you with clear and simple advice and information. I look forward to hearing from you via e-mail or by phone at your convenience.

Very truly yours,
