family medical leave

elderly in-laws in need of constant care. am i eligable under this?

You asked about FMLA leave.

The care of any immediate family will qualify under FMLA. In laws are the parents of your spouse and therefore are in the same position as your own parents with regard to status as immediate family.

Some employers have taken issue with this argument but I would be happy to prosecute the case where an employer refused the request based on this status.

You should speak with a legal professional to make certain that you and your employer are both subject to the FMLA.
