can i sue a police officer for lying in a afficdavit?2 victim statemnets say i got gun pulled on me while the police statement leaves that out.it was left out purposly to help his case n hurt mine.i took a plea at prelim,my lawyer was only given the deceptive statement.not the truthful ones.i can show there was alot of mistakes and bias made by the cop.

If someone lies, a lawsuit may be possible but not likely. If you took a guilty plea it may limit your options in the civil arena. You also have a certain period of time in which to notify the county or municipal authority putting them on notice of a claim It would all depend on what the charges that you pled guilty to; where the case took place, and how long ago it took place.
