Can I sue for slander or deflamation of charachter from an ex employer

I had worked for a company for almost 2 years my manager ,during my whole employment time repeatdly spread nasty rumors about me around my community my roomate had also worked there with me as of today (I had left in Feb.)and this manager has questioned our sexuality more than once to customers and friends and i had even had lost a job due to a negative reference she had given me she repeatedly informs anyone who will listen that i have mental problems and when i had a boyfriend she had still questioned my sexuality with my roomate and the guy.My roomate due to this is on an antidepressent and i am very ill from stress am i able to sue?

You need to speak to an attorney right away. Sexual harrassment charges have a relatively short limitations period. If you do not file a claim (and your roomate also) within six months of the offensive conduct with the PA HRC or EEOC, you may lose rights.
