Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Can Wages and Bank Accounts be garnished

A creditor won a monetary judgement in small claims court. I agreed to paid monthly approximately $90 to $100. I paid this amount for four months, and then stopped. It is now about eight months later and I find that they placed a garnishment on my bank account. Can they do in Pennsylvania?

Re: Can Wages and Bank Accounts be garnished

Why on earth would you think that a court judgment and your own agreement to pay are not enforceable? Of course your assets can be garnished. There are a few exceptions (like tools needed for your trade), but money in the bank isn't one of them.

I know this sounds snotty, but it looks to me like you're ignored a debt, ignored a court judgment, ignored your own agreement to make monthly payments, and now you want free legal advice to avoid the consequences.

Ain't gonna happen.
