Legal Question in Insurance Law in Pennsylvania

Automotive Insurance Law

In the state of PA, if I own 3 vehicles, is it legal to insure 2 vehicles through one auto insurance carrier; but insure the 3rd vehicle throught a separate/different auto insurance carrier? And, if so, do both auto insurance carrier policies have to have the same liability amounts of coverage?

Re: Automotive Insurance Law

You can insure each vehicle with any ins co & use any coverage amount. However, usually an insurer will give you a reduction in the premium for multiple vehicles, so it may be a better deal to use 1 insurer. There are some other resons to use the same insurer which are too complicated to explain here, but you can contact me to discuss. There may be valid reasons to use different insurers, but I do not know your particular circumstance.
