Legal Question in Insurance Law in Pennsylvania

employer's insurance & my credit report

the marketing firm I work for has asked to see my credit report. Claiming it is a requirement mandated by the new insurance company they just started doing business with recently. Why my personal credit reprt? The only money we handle is coupons that we hand out assoiciated with product we represent. I live in Pennsylvania, but we ''reps'' come from all over.

The marketing firm will not be doing the checking, the security firm they hired, or said security firm authorized representative. They won't say fully as to why and/or who authorized representative is.

Re: employer's insurance & my credit report

Generally, I have heard of employer's checking an employee's credit report, when they hire somebody.I have never heard of an insurance company doing this, especially if your employer is paying the premiums. I assume they asked you to sign something to authorize this. I would ask the human relations rep. why this is necessary, and find out if they are requitring this of everyone. It sounds strange to me, but I don't know if there is anything you can do about it. Feel free to call or email me if you get more info.
