Legal Question in Insurance Law in Pennsylvania

life insurance beneficiary

Prior to my fathers death the end of last year, he indicated to us that there was a $3000 death benefit from his union. My mother, who also died in November of 2003, also indicated this. I called the union directly. They told me there was no death benefit. Who can I contact to find out the truth? Thank you.

Re: life insurance beneficiary

First, I would check any papers that belonged to your father to see if you can find any evidence of this death benefit. Next, who did you contact at the union? I would keep trying to find someone at the union to see if they know anything concerning this benefit. Your father's union handbook should contain this information, but without anything in writing, there is not much you can do.
