Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Employee Contract

Hi-My wife who is a physician is currently employed by a practice and she signed a contract 6 years ago. The contract was never renewed and I did not find any explicit language on auto renewal. She currently has a job offer which she is considering but is concerned about the restrictive covenants in the original contract - specifically clauses that prevent her from working within a 5-10 mile radius of her current practice. The question is - 1) is the original contract still valid since she did not sign a renewal 2) are the restrictive covenants then enforceable.

Thanks.

Re: Employee Contract

Until you let Counsel review the original contract, one would have to presume the answers are, "yes" and "yes."

Good Luck.
