Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Employee Rights

Does my employer have the right to ask for my personal auto insurance information? Business Manager said it was needed but did not provide specific info on why.

I drive the company's vehicle during work hours which is covered under the company's insurance, why do I need to provide them with proof of my personal auto insurance? Isn't that an invasion of my rights?

Re: Employee Rights

The reason for the request has to do with insurance companies' ability to collect from each other, payment of deductibles, etc.

Your question about whether or not you have to provide it is more clearly answered by the response that the employer doesn't have to let you drive their vehicle unless you meet their requirements.
