Fired for stealing

I worked for a very close private company..I used the company credit card for personal charges...On four times for Cigarettes, bottle of soda and cupcake...owner was very close to all employees..guess i never expected to be fired for my actions but was....know that i deserved being fired guess i expected more out of my boss...Confrontation,restitution and maybe suspension....can my exemployer tell perspective employeers exactly why i was fired.....have never done this before.......thanks Ed

sorry you lost your job. unions are still necessary unless you have the bargaining power of barry bonds. but even he has a union.

short answer: once the statute of limitations runs on petty theft, you can assert a public disclosure of private fact tort. it all seems pretty deminimis to me and may in fact be pretextual.

sit down in front of a brick and mortar attorney for full explanation. expect to pay at least 50 bucks.
