is it illegal in Pennsylvania for a potential employer to illegally discriminate against a job applicant because of their past or present occupation . extreme example ...can a hiring animal shelter discriminate against a job applicant because they still do or have worked at a slaughterhouse ?
Unfortunately, Pennsylvania remains an at Will State. This essentially means employers may make all manner of decisions respecting the qualifications of potential employees. However, employers are still bound by law and may not discriminate against potential employees based on Race, Ethnicity, Gender, Religious Affliation or Creed.
