Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

I came to work with a note from the doctor for light duty ,they said that their was no light duty and walked me out. My dotor had me apply for short term disabilty . I called unemployeement and they said they dont see a reason why i cant collect both because i was sent home. So my question is could i collect both and is it legaland if not who was wrong.

If your restrictions are work related, you may have a workers compensation claim. If you are 50 or older, you may be entitled to SSD benefits. You are definitely eligible for unemployment compensation benefits. Hypothetically, you could qualify for all of these benefits AND STD. They are usually "coordinated" so that you will only receive the highest benefit amount. You should follow through on the UC - it is more reliable and most likely longer in duration than STD.
