How much notice is required to vacate a premises with a month-to-month lease.

Generally 1 month. Generally when you pay your rent you could give notice.

Such notice may have to be in writing or in a form you lease dictates. If the lease doesn't say. A verbal notification maybe enough. However, putting it in writing and keeping a copy is the way to go.
