Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

noisey neighbors

I live in a duplex ( side by side house) owned by the same landlord. the other tenant constantly plays her surround sound, I hear the base thumping my walls enough to knock pictures off. I had called the police on them a few weeks ago at 1am, and they told them to turn it down. I asked the owner to intervine but nothing is resolved. sometimes the stereo is on past 2 am. I get up at 5 am to study and i also have a full time job. in our lease it states that either occupant cannot distrupt the other between the others of 11pm to 8 am. her excuse is that she needs the stereo on loudly so that she can console her 2 year old child that suffers from adhd. i have tried to contend with this ever since she had moved in in April. I have talked to

her, the landlord and the polce . what more can i do? I need to know what my rights are. I have been here for three years. i renewed my lease back in october, but i honestly cannot live like this . it is not fair for my children to be subjected to this.

Re: noisey neighbors

You have two primary options, first talk it over with your neighbor, if this doesn't work you need to involve your landlord. In the event that he does not act you would need to file suit against him. My recommendation is that you retain an attorney for legal advice as soon as possible and before this situation gets worse.
