Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Pennsylvania

I am currently on maternity leave and have been for the past 3 months. I recently was offered another job with better pay and benefits elsewhere. I gave my notice to my current employer and tried to be a nice in my resignation as possible but also made a note to tell them why I was leaving (it is a medical office that is becoming more concerned with money then the patients). Today in the mail I received a letter from the CEO who was very defensive and nasty calling me disrespectful and immature and a bad friend to the other employees. He also threatened to sue me for damages. Is there anything I can do legally?

You should not worry and let them file a case

If you were paid while on maternity leave, they might claim that you took the money and never intended to return. If so, and it was a fringe benefit that you had earned, they would have a tough time prevailing in any law suit. If you weren't paid, you have nothing to worry about.
