Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Pennsylvania

Untreated abdominal abcess

I had a hysterectomy in December in January I had an abcess rupture. I spent 2 days in a hospital after which I was released at no risk. 1 day later I was rushed to another hospital where I under went emergency surgery 3 times for 2 more abcesses that my original doctor failed to do anything about even after an ultra sound showed other possible abcesses which in a matter of 24 hrs. Grew to the size of a baseballs. I was septic and very close to losing my life, the infection was through out my entire body. Do I have a case against the original hospital and the doctor there? The doctors treating me now told me that it was complete neglect on the part of the other doctor and hospital.

Whether you have a claim that deserves further investigation depends upon a number of facts not contained in your post. YOou do not describe the course of the condition which led to your admission for treatment. Your condition at the time of discharge [preceding your readmission for treatment of the further abcesses is also not described. Finally, it is important to consider the nature and length of your rehabilitation and and continuing problems you may have. Please feel free to call our office so that we can obtain further information and determine whether we can be of help. When calling ask to speak to Dr. Flleischman. He is one of the medical people we employ to conduct such telephone interviews.
