Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

Around 1980, I was under 18 and in a car accident. My step-father won a lawsuit and received money. Did he have the right to not tell me, keep all the money and do with it as he saw fit? If I did not live at home at the time (moved out) did he break the law?

Big problem. 1st, the money should have bee placed in a special account. If the settlement wa over 5000, it would have court approval. The attorney who reresnted your interest.amy be responsible. Call me to discuss this. No charge for the consult

I agree with the prior answer, The court should have entered an order requiring the money be deposited into a special bank account to be held for you to withdraw when you turned 18. The attorney should have arranged for that court order. So your step-father and/or the attorney may have liability here. Call me since I handle these types of cases. There's no fee for an initial consultation. Good luck!!
