Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

getting a foreign object in food at a restaurant

Went to a restaurant started eating a dish of ice cream and bite into something. Thought at first

it was an ice chip but it was a fingernail.

I notified the manager and he had me file a

form. Their insurance company called and are having

me take a blood test for hepatitis. They told me

to let them know about the test, they would pay

for all testing. Then they would contact me

as to what kind of compensation it will take to

settle this case. I never ask for anything and

was completely surprised. Can you advise as to

what you think would be a reasonable offer.

Thank You.

Re: getting a foreign object in food at a restaurant

The value of any personal injury claim depends upon the nature and extent of your injuries. All claims are different, even for seemingly similar injuries. The nature and extent of your injuries are unclear from the facts you described. You should consult with an attorney and discuss in detail your injuries before trying to negotiate with an insurance adjuster. Insurance adjusters are experienced in handling claims. It is unlikely you will obtain full value for your claim if you negotiate without an attorney.
