Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

Hurt in a hit and run accident

I was rear ended in a hit and run accident. I followed the person who hit me and provided the police with the make model and tag number of the car. They have done nothing to apprehend this individual or charge them. I was hurt and start therapy this week. I have been out of work as a result of this and do not know if I qualify for workmans comp, I work for a temp agency and my job assignment that I have currently involves lifting and moving bins of documents that can be heavy, don't know if I can continue to do so. What are my options in this case.

Re: Hurt in a hit and run accident

Consult an attorney. Hopefully you had the full tort option on your auto insurance as well as uninsured motorist coverage to protect you from irresponsible people.

You can get a copy of the police report from the cops, and PennDOT can provide you the ownership info based on the tag number. (You have to mail in a form, but PennDOT's web site will probably tell you how to request it).

Only an attorney who you consult can explain your rights under workers comp, based on all the facts. You didn't say whether you were working at the time of the accident, which is the key factor.
