Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

Injury from car accident

I was behind another car at a stop sign (I was standing still) when the driver infront of me (car #1) suddenly decided to go in reverse. Car# 1 then hit my car (Car #2). The driver of Car #1 accepeted fault and their insurance company is paying for repair of my car (Car #2). I have full torte on my auto policy.

I have seen a doctor because I have increasing pain in my neck and shoulders. I have missed 1 week of work (so far) due to the pain. The insurance company are filing for loss of compensation.

What are my options to make sure that I receive a fair settlement for current pain and suffering as well as protecting me if the injury should cause more problems etc later in life.

Re: Injury from car accident

You can't get a fair settlement now AND protect against future complications, because the other driver's insurance company will not pay anything unless they get a release of ALL claims, past and future, known and unknown. Luckily, there's a simple answer to this problem: hire an attorney to repesent you, to make sure you get fair compensation, and the possibility of future complications is taken into account. That does mean having to wait a reasonable period of time until your condition is stable and you have a pretty good idea what the future holds.
