Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

how liable are we?

we just received a letter from an attorney that we are being sued because their daughter fell on our sidewalk and broke a bone and claims that she will be suffering with it for the rest of her life. This family did not report it to us nor have law enforcement present it. No medical reports have been issued to us either. This was to have happened to her 28 months ago. We have sold the house in Sept of this year and have just received the claim a week ago. We have reported it to our previous homeowners insurance. Please inform us what to expect

Re: how liable are we?

As long as you reported the claim to your homeowner's inusrane company, you should have nothing to worry about. They should be contacting you shortly, and you should cooperate fully with your insurance company. If you don't hear from your company in the next several days, contact them again. Assuming that the this girl was not seriously injured, you should have no personal liablility in this matter.
