Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

55+ Adult Age-Qualified Community PA - Legal Appeal of Rules???

We live in an age qualified, Adult only (55+) community in PA. There are numerous association rules and regulations. We are being citied because we cannot park at least one vehicle in our 2-car garage. Our garage is organized and we use it for storage but we do not feel that the association can tell us that we must be able to park one vehicle inside.

I am quoting what the by-laws state Garages: The garages in all homes shall be used for parking of at least one vehicle and may not be used exclusively for storage, nor converted to a living space, office and/or place of business.

We need help. What type of lawyer would we consult with? Do we have a basis for legal appeal in the court system? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

A community has a right to have reasonable rules and regulations. It seems to me that you are required to find an alternate storage area. You need an attorney that specializes in condo law. If I can be of any assistance please call. I suspect that you are on weak ground, but I would be happy to review for you for a small fee.
