Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Apartment Leases

My Landlord Lied to me and my room mate. I am trying to get out of my lease because of the problems that we faced in the last month in a half that we have lived there. There is mold growing in my area where the washer and dryer is. Also my hot water heater is broke. My apartment flooded about a week ago and it stinks and the paint on the walls are turing a light brown color. These problems have been addressed and they are doing nothing. Is there any way that i can get out of my lease. It is for one year.

Re: Apartment Leases

If the landlord will not make repairs required under the lease, you are allowed to make the repairs and deduct the expense of the repairs from your rent. From your description the problems probably do not rise to the level to get you out of the lease.
