I'm assuming you are a tenant and the person that tossed you out was your landlord. The only way they could do this is if they obtained an order of possession and the statutory time period had been served, if it had been then yes, they can do exactly what they did. However, you would have received several opportunities to appeal the court's decision and or resolve this matter prior to the Landlord kicking you out.
