If i am a cosigner on a morgage , may i sell the property to recoupe my losses ?

I assume that you own the property that is securing the mortgage. If I am right, then yes, you you can sell the property and keep half of any proceeds. This lawsuit is called a partition. I I don't know what loses you experienced, so I can't tell you if you can recover those loses from the other signer. You should talk to a lawyer about the specifics of your situation.
