Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Deposit given on land

We gave a deposit on a parcel of land and additional development fees over a year ago and the deal hasn't gone through because of the bank holding the land on the owner, we have a document signed stating that Settlement would be in September, 2007 and obviously the time has past, how can we reclaim the deposit and monies given? By lien?

Re: Deposit given on land

You need to take whatever paperwork and agreements/contracts that you have to a real estate lawyer in the county where the land is. All of those must be reviewed to figure out what your rights and obligations are.

Be sure to let the lawyer also know the history of this - a written chronological history, with each event or document, helps to clarify the situation.

Don't wait - your money may be at risk even if you were entitled to a refund.
