Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

We moved into our home 11/1/10. It's a rental. We have never been late on rent nor have we done any damage to the home. Our landlords are having financial difficulties and are threatening to evict us so they are not homeless. They have given us an unfair ultimatum...buy the house or move out. We would love to buy the home but it's a single wide modular home and we don't have the 20% that the banks require to put down on a loan like that. Can they do this because of thier personal financial reasons?

A lease protects the landlord and the tenant. Unless a tenant defaults on a lease then the lease is enforceable by the tenant. The landlord generally can only evict for cause through a court proceeding.

As to buying the property, do not do it. Modular homes are notorious money losers. You are much better off renting.
