Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Hello, I have a question regarding late fees in Pennsylvania. We are in our third lease w/ our current landlord. There are provisions in our lease about late fees. However, he has never enforced the late fees or given any notice that he would charge us until recently when we resigned our lease in April. The problem occured when our July rent must have gotten lost in the mail and we received a letter from his lawyer that he would be charging us late fees for all the late rent in our over two years living there. Though slightly late , we have never missed a rent payment. Just wondering can he do this? Especially for rent falling under the old leases?

No. He can nail you for July 2013 but he wants late fees for previous times. How bad does this attorney wish to look like a total jackass in front of the dj?
