Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Real estate purchase

Recently purchased a pre owned home. Found out two weeks later a woman was murdered in the house about 15 years ago. Now having nighmares. Should the fact that a murder occured in the house have been divulged prior to our purchasing the property??

Re: Real estate purchase

You asked about disclosure of prior murder in home.

Nope, not required in our state. Some states do consider it a requirement if the fact is known. In actuality it doesn't have a legal value whereas a concealed material defect would have an actual legal value.

I suggest that you have the house blessed by persons of the faith of your choice. Maybe even a few faiths you don't agree with also.

Fortunately or unfortunately there is no claim available for you in this state.

Regards,

Roger
