Rights of Organizations In The Long-Term Use and Care of School Property

A youth sports organization was granted use of local school district property for the purpose of conducted a youth sports program for over 45 years. Over the years, this youth organization raised all of the money and built fields, buildings, fencing,and, scoreboards. The school district has NEVER contributed any money to the construction and maintenance of the fields. The school district owns the land. However, who owns the the fencing, buildings, scoreboards, and other structures that were paid for, erected, and maintained by the youth sports organization over the last 45 years? What rights does the youthe sports organization have in the fencing, structures, scoreboards, concession stands, etc.??

You raise an interesting question. Typically improvements such as these to another property do not become your property unless you have negotiated these improvements with the landlord before the improvements were done.

The school district could argue that they let use their land or space for free or in return for the improivements you did. I am not sure what your question is or if there is legitimate legal issue that could not be worked out with the school district or their officers.
