Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

tax sale

MY husband and I purchased a house for 3 years back taxes. No one lived there. Called daughter and asked for kep to house. daughter states there is furniture and things in the house that she wants, though she recieved notices to delinquent taxes she states she thought she still had a couple of years until the house would be sold. Since we paided the back taxes and cut the grass that had not been cut in three years, is she entitled to any thing in the house? she still has not provided the key after one week.

Re: tax sale

You asked about ownership of property purchased at tax sale.

Homes are purchased as is at tax sales. Re-key the home immediately to protect the property.

But, remember that the previous owner or their heirs may redeem the property by paying the tax sale purchasor the redemption fee, which is the sale price plus a percentage fee.

The previous owner has no right to any property unless they redeem.

You need to sit down with an attorney to discuss your specific rights and responsibilities.

Regards,

Roger
