Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania

failure to stop completely at stop sign

Late Thursday evening, I was cited for failure to stop completely at a stop sign at the top of the exit ramp on the interstate. The officer who ticketed me was down the block in a parking lot, looking out over the interstate to the ramp I was on. I drove to that lot the night after my ticket to see the officer's point of view, which I don't feel was very clear. Given the distance he was away from the intersection, or the time of day, can I fight this ticket & win?

Re: failure to stop completely at stop sign

You can. Go to www.google.com and downloan a satellite photograph of the

area. Go to where the officer was parked and take a photograph from your car parked where the officer was parked or a video if that is convenient.

Call me if you like.

Mr. Moore has a lot more hope in municipal courts than I do. Maybe things are better in Northern NJ. I suggest you follow his advice and speak with the prosecutor and show him what you have. My guess is he will say he doesn't really care and you will have to go to trial.

I don't suggest you go to trial by yourself. In that case, get a new date and hire an attorney to help you.
