Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania

If I allow my friend to borrow my car twice a week to drive to work, and she happens to have any type of accident or traffic violation, how am I liable? I do have active auto insurance. If anything happens while she is driving, would my insurance cover damages? Also, if she has a traffic violation, would it be in HER name or my name. I own the car.

It is not a good idea. Any accidents would be paid by your insurance but if damages are high by injury or property damage, you could possibly be held liable for the excess, or in some states, if she runs an errand for you, she becomes your agent. You become liable.

This is an oversimplification. However, it gives you an idea of the absurdity of what can happen.
