Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

My family's long time friend passed away.

He owned nothing the only thing he had was a checking account and my name was also on his account.

There was 4000.00 in it when he passed he had no will.

I paid the funeral expenses out of it and there is 400.00 left.

He also had life insurance worth 7000.00 I was the beneficiary.

He owed two credit card companies am I responsible to pay those?

My name was on neither account.

You aren't responsible for the credit cards. His estate is. If the credit cards want to go after his estate they are going to have to open an estate.
