It is hard to say whether or not the changes will be effective. However, you are in luck! My office is located in your same zip code, and I make house calls free of charge. I would be more than happy to meet with your mother, review everything and make sure that the documents are done properly and you can be relieved of any worries.

I offer free consultations, so please do not hesistate to contact me at 412.904.4469 or [email protected].

I look forward to helping your mother.

While you shouldd have the power of attorney reviewed by an attorney, I don't know what the power of attorney says. Did it appoint you as the contingent agent if the first agent was unable or unwilling to act? Or did it allow your sister to name a successor?

If the answer to either question is no, then whatever you and your sister did might be meaningless unless your mother signed AND notarized it.
