Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

How do I get a short certificate or letter of administration. My god-mother passed away on January 7, 2011 and we lived together. She had me listed as her beneficiary on several of her insurance policies. I would like to take the money and bill off her bills so that creditors are not harrassing me.

You don't need a short certificate to receive the death benefits from the insurance company. Have them send you applications. You'll need death certificates. You are not obligated to pay the creditors; but your choice to pay or not depends on other considerations.
