Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

Time Frame for Probate

My Uncle passed away 6 months ago and I was named as an heir in his will. All parties involved in the will are in agreeance as to the terms of the will and no other family member is contesting. However, the executor who is also an attorney is not doing any disbursements. What is the time frame that a will must stay in Probate in the state of PA?

Re: Time Frame for Probate

You should not hold your breath. Attorneys handling estates never seem to do things quick enough for the beneficiaries.

The only time sensitive act is paying the taxes.

Although in the grand scheme of things 6 months is not all that long. There are many things that must be done and have minimum time frames associated with them. For example notices to debtors and creditors of the estate must be made and time allowed for a response.
