Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania

workers comp fired while under treatment

I go to the chiropractor an average of 3 times a week for a spinal injury from whiplash. I was injured while on the job (driving to an event) and so workers comp is paying for the chiropractic treatments. I never missed work during the time I worked but I was fired soon after my injury. I have suffered because I am trying to find another job and I work on some independent projects - the trouble is the chiropractic care and therapy takes up lots of time and anyway I was wondering if I could get any settlement or sue anyone for all of this pain and suffering. I was hit by an uninsured motorist and have limited tort so I am interested in the workers comp part of what my rights are.

Re: workers comp fired while under treatment

Sorry for the delayed response. My internet connection has been down. Limited tort is misunderstood by many attorneys, insurance adjusters, and almost all people who are not involved in matters related to the legal industry.

You have economic loss that should be covered by your own uninsured motorist's coverage. Also, you cannot be fired because of your use of workers' compensation benefits. That violates public policy in Pennsylvania.
