hi, I got hurt in a slip and fall at work..I got w.c. cash and medical for 3 months...they took me off cash and said they will pay my medical..well i got a attorney to file a appeal for me,we had a hearing and now I dont have another one until OCTOBER....Isnt that a long time for the next hearing? also my attorney didnt give all of my papers why??? and also w.c. would not pay for a couple of my meds..I to;d the attorney and he said to me..oh thats nick-pickin...do people go through a lot of attorneys before they find one who cares about them or what??/ why is this happening to me??thank you

Workers' Compensation insurance companies do nit pick. If they can save cents by denying you reimbursement for medications, they will. Hearings are usually spaced a few months apart so depositions may be conducted if needed or, if it's a closed period, so the time of the period may be determined. I don't know why your attorney would not give you all of the papers unless he is retaining his work product because you are on a contingency fee basis. If so, it may be because he doesn't want to spend a year on the case and then have you switch to attorneys that take his work and get his contingency fees.

As for why it's happening to you, it happens to a lot of people. It was never an easy system but it was a lot better before the "reforms" of the l990's.
