Legal Question in Immigration Law in Peru

My Peruvian Girlfriend Is Trying To Visit Me For The 1st Time

I am a US citizen. I met my girlfriend Online. She is from Peru. I would like her to visit me here in the US. I understand that i can hurt her chances of getting a visitor visa if I send her a reqst letter stating I will take care of all expenses. But we do not qualify for the fiancee visa because we have never met in person. Besides, I am not planning to marry her when she isable to visit because I feel it is too soon. i would like to know what can I do or what should she do to help and not hurt her chances of getting a visitor or business visa? Does she have to show the Counsol her plane ticket when applying for the visa? I am asking this because I have read she would have to show the counsol her ticket or itinerary, but it does not make sence to me because what if she is denied, then she just wasted money on a plane ticket. Would she need a visitor visa or a business visa if she is only traveling the US to visit me? Thank you to anyone that can help me with the best way I can meet my girlfriend.

Dear Inquirer:

Tourist visas are very hard to obtain. The Consul will deny a visa to anyone whom he believes is an "intending immigrant." Yes, they do want to see a round trip ticket, but if she tells them she is coming to see her US Citizen boyfriend, they will refuse the visa.

Under these circumstances, you may want to consider visiting her in Peru. If it works out, we could do the fiancee visa later after your return. Good luck!
