Legal Question in Criminal Law in Philippines
We run a boarding house here in Davao. A recently moved in girl boarder, who is a minor, is accusing my stepfather, a retired policeman of abuse. She says my stepfather went up to her room to offer her food, but kissed her and told her to be quite. She added that my stepfather went up to her room again after a few minutes, threatend her again and touched the private parts of her body. She made no mention of my stepfather carrying any deadly weapon to advance his threat. And while all this was happening, there were more or less 6 other people present in our boarding house. Which is a bungalow style, so you could easily hear someone if they called for help. The minor's family are planning to file a case, and a relative who claims to be a retired army officer keeps on calling us, and threatens to have my stepfather killed. Since there are no witnesses to the alleged abuse. What could be the possible outcome, since we are planning to counter with Libel (?), including grave threats made by their relative?
