You could file suit in the appropriate Rhode Island Court for Breach of Contract depending upon the terms of the contract. Unfortunately, filing suit is easier said than done. Depending upon the difference in value between the "shoddy" remodel as opposed to an "acceptable" remodel job you may be required to provide expert testimony that the work done for you was, in fact, substandard as compared to a reasonable remodeling standard for the type of work done in that particular area of the remodeling industry you are dealing with.

Much of this depends upon the dollar amount of your damages. You might want to get an estimate and opinion from a person who has done the same type of remodeling work as to how much it would cost to fix the shoddy work so that it meets reasonable standards.
