Legal Question in Consumer Law in Rhode Island

3 months ago i bought a new kitchen from a remodleing store.i was told 4 to 6 weeks for delivery.i put 1/2 down at that time.3 weeks later i changed the counter top to granite and was told my cabinets were in new jersey, and was asked for the remainder of money which i did give. now all i get is not in yet 2 more weeks everytime i call.now they don't answer the phone.

Ugh... that's never good when they stop answering the phone!

If you paid by check, you may try to stop payment - if by credit card, you should call the credit card company and tell them you want to dispute the charge.

If the remodeling store is in RI, I would also check them out with the RI Contractor's Registration Board here - http://www.crb.ri.gov/index.php - you may wish to file a complaint, as well.
