Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Rhode Island

Landlord lied in Small Claims Court

I recently brought my landlord to small claims court to try to get my security deposit back and lost. I understand I have no right to appeal, but there were several times he told outright lies about the condition of the apartment when he purchased the building. I have now located the original owner who can prove that the new landlord was lying, and that the damage I have been accused of (and have now paid for) was there two years before the present landlord even stepped into the property for the first time. If there are records from his small claims testimony I can clearly prove the landlord's perjury on the stand, but with no right to appeal, do I have any recourse, such as bringing a new case based on his taking my money based on a lie?

See if you can bring a motion to reopen based on new evidence. Usually such claims are denied, but may be worth a try. How much is at stake?
